Meet Hugh Davies Schramsberg's roots trace back to the 19th century when German immigrant Jacob Schram founded a winery on Diamond Mountain. In 1965, Jack and Jamie Davies revitalized the estate, aiming to create America's most esteemed sparkling wine. This commitment to excellence has garnered global recognition. Schramsberg made history when its Blanc de Blancs was used for President Nixon’s 1972 “Toast to Peace” with China's Premier Zhou Enlai and has since been served at official State functions by every U.S. Presidential administration.
Now run by Hugh Davies, who born the same year his parents Jack and Jamie Davies purchased the Schramsberg Estate, and some may say was born with a wine glass in hand! Surrounded by the vines, caves, tanks and barrels of the Vineyards, he was the perfect fit to take over his family’s history.
