2023 Arianna Occhipinti "SP68" Rosso (Sicily, IT) 2R

This wine is named "SP68" for the road near Arianna's home vineyard in Vittoria. Made from Frappato and Nero d'Avola, two varietals native to Sicily, this wine has intense aromas of red fruit and Mediterranean herbs and spices. The palate is fresh and lively with sweetly soft tannins, bright acidity and a mouthwatering finish.

    About The Varietal

    Frappato

Frappato is a red grape variety known for its light body, and it is extensively cultivated on the southeastern coast of Sicily. These grapes produce wines with a cherry-red hue, aromatic qualities, and low tannin content. Varietal Frappato wines are light-bodied and exhibit a subtle resemblance to high-quality Beaujolais wines.
