    Leonardo Bussoletti is on the front lines of the Ciliegiolo revival; a grape typically used for blending with history in Umbria dating back to the 1200s. The ‘Brecciaro’ is 100% Ciliegiolo and packs a punch with flavors of dark cherry and fresh red fruit. Pair this with any & all mushrooms or truffle risotto.

    About The Varietal

    Ciliegiolo

    Ciliegiolo is a red grape variety originally hailing from central and northwestern Italy. Although it was relatively obscure in the past, it is currently experiencing a revival. The grape's name is derived from the Italian word for 'cherry,' which is fitting since Ciliegiolo wines share similarities with cherries in terms of both color and aroma.
