2011 Krug Vintage Brut Champagne (Champagne, FR)

    From James Suckling

"It shows reserved character but with a lot of energy and tension. Concentrated citrus fruit, candied lemons and mandarin peel with hints of savory herbs and spices. Notes of brioche and caraway seeds. Full-bodied, complex and nervy on the palate. It has fine, silky bubbles yet it’s structured and firm with a lot of power. It builds up on the finish with freshness and vibrancy."

    About The Varietal

A Champagne Blend refers to the world's most recognized wine styles - the sparkling wines made from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier most famously associated with the Champagne region of France.

    About The Producer

    Champagne Krug

When Joseph Krug founded his Champagne House in 1843, he was driven by the belief that the true essence of Champagne was pleasure. He aimed to create the finest Champagne each year, regardless of climate variations. He pushed the boundaries of Champagne-making, establishing a House where every bottle would meet the same high standard of excellence. Julie Cavil, Krug's first female Cellar Master, began her career in advertising as an account director in Paris, where she met her husband. Their shared love for wine inspired her to pursue a new path in the Champagne industry. In 2002, she moved to the region to study oenology, despite being older than most students and already a mother. She graduated in 2006, and Krug welcomed her with open arms, recognizing her passion and talent.
