2016 Marchesi Di Barolo "Barolo di Barolo" (Piedmont, IT) 6R

Vibrant ruby red in color. The aroma offers spicy notes reminiscent of pine needles and pepper, with echoes of cherry compote. On the palate, it reveals salty undertones complemented by bright fruit flavors. It spreads smoothly with a refreshing coolness over the tongue and finishes with juicy persistence.

    About The Varietal

    Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is the prominent grape variety responsible for the high-quality red wines found in northwestern Italy, especially the robust reds of Barolo and Barbaresco. These wines are often characterized by a unique aroma that combines scents of "tar and roses." Nebbiolo wines typically exhibit moderate body, robust tannins, elevated acidity, and are highly sought after, often commanding premium prices.

    About The Producer

    Marchesi di Barolo

Named after their own town, Barolo wine was created in the historic cellars of Marchesi di Barolo. Thanks to Giulia di Barolo, who recognized the soils and microclimate of her home vineyards, she was the first to make Nebbiolo grapes into the Barolo we know now, rather than in the form of a sweet, sparkling wine. Giulia build new cellars to make wine in large casks, some of which are still used today almost 5 centuries later.
