2018 P.S. Garcia “Bravado” Red Blend (Valle del Itata, CL) 8R

A UG staff favorite, we've been enjoying this delicious red with our summer barbecue. The blend of Syrah, Carignan, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Petit Verdot from 120-YEAR-OLD-VINES (!!!) is surprisingly quaffable and intensely aromatic. Cherry and sage mingle with a fresh salinity on the finish. A very unique wine from old vines planted in Chile's Itata Valley, we are thrilled to be able to offer it to our community!

    About The Varietal

    Carignan

Carignan is a grape variety with dark skin, believed to have originated in Aragon. This grape is prevalent in wines produced along the Mediterranean coast, particularly in northeastern Spain and the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. It is frequently used for blending with other significant regional grape varieties, including Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre.
