2019 Mas Doix "Les Crestes" Priorat (Catalonia, SP) 5R

The grapes for this wine go through a thorough selection process being hand picked and sorted twice at the winery. Young vine Garnacha makes up 80% of the blend along with 10% Syrah and 10% old vine Carinena and aged for 8 months in neutral French oak. This is a very approachable wine with bright, fresh red fruit and well integrated toasty spice on the finish.

    About The Varietal

    Carignan

Carignan is a grape variety with dark skin, believed to have originated in Aragon. This grape is prevalent in wines produced along the Mediterranean coast, particularly in northeastern Spain and the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. It is frequently used for blending with other significant regional grape varieties, including Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre.
