2021 Beckmen Vineyards "Cuvee Le Bec" Syrah (Santa Ynez Valley, CA) 4R

"Cuvee Le Bec" is a Rhone-style red blend, marrying Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Counoise. The cornerstone of this wine lies in its impeccable balance. Sourced from vineyards on both the Winery Estate and Purisima Mountain Vineyard, this blend typically leans toward Grenache and Syrah, balanced out with Mourvedre and Counoise. Drawing inspiration from the Village wines of the Côtes du Rhône, "Cuvee Le Bec" embodies a delightful fusion of old-world complexity and elegance with the luscious ripeness of California fruit.

    About The Varietal

    Syrah

Shiraz and Syrah are interchangeable names for the same dark-skinned grape variety when viewed in terms of DNA. Originating in the Rhône Valley, this grape dominates plantings in the northern section of the valley. The name Shiraz is commonly used in Australia and certain regions of the New World, particularly those with warmer climates. The stylistic differences between Shiraz and Syrah wines are often distinct, contributing to the enduring dual identities of this grape variety.
