2023 Progressive Wine Co. "Cohort 3" Chardonnay (Alexander Valley, CA) 6W

Our Chardonnay grapes come from Alexander Mountain, one of Sonoma's finest Alexander Valley AVA vineyards. These extreme mountain grapes defy what most people think of when they hear California Chardonnay - the small grapes never grow to over-ripeness, so they maintain their high acidity and expressive flavor. We've taken a gentle hand with the oak aging so that the natural tendencies of the mountain fruit can shine through. You'll find bright aromas of green apple, pear, and lemon zest on the nose. The palate of the wine is crisp with lively acidity and fantastic minerality. We love the flavors of ripe citrus and stone fruit.

This wine is a staple in the Douglas household and makes both French and American Chardonnay lovers happy!

    About The Varietal

    Chardonnay

Chardonnay, possibly the most famous among white grape varieties, is frequently regarded as reaching its peak expression in its Burgundian birthplace. However, this grape has journeyed across the globe, and Chardonnay wines, ranging from outstanding to less inspiring, can now be discovered in various wine-producing regions worldwide.
