2023 Roberto Mendez Cies Albarino (Rias Baixas, SP) 4W

The 2023 Cíes is a white village wine from Meaño, sourced from various vineyards, showcasing elegance and subtlety with a nuanced and intricate profile. It underwent fermentation and aging in barrels of various sizes for six months. With moderate ripeness and 12.2% alcohol, it exhibits excellent freshness and acidity, resulting in a vibrant, lively character with saline notes and a deliciously flavorful finish. The wine is sharp, precise, and distinctly mineral.

    About The Varietal

    Albarino

This green-skinned grape variety originates from Galicia, situated on the northern Atlantic coast of Spain. It is most famous for being the primary grape variety in the Rias Baixas DO, where it is used to craft fresh, and often, texturally rich white wines featuring notes of peach, citrus, and minerals, making them an ideal accompaniment to the region's seafood.
