Although stated to be "young vines", these vines are actually relatively old at approximately 40 years of age, giving you an insight into how ancient the winemaking culture is in Greece! This is the slightly more playful younger brother to the 2018 Naoussa Thymiopoulous Xinomavro, and it shows a lighter mouthfeel, a more focused red fruit flavor, as well as being completely unoaked for a fresh, terroir-driven wine. Amazing with lamb kebabs, schwarma, or gyros!
About The Varietal
Xinomavro is a leading contender for Greece's top red grape, distinguished by its dark-skinned variety capable of yielding structured, powerful, and long-lived red wines of remarkable complexity. Characterized by notably high tannin and acidity levels, Xinomavro stands out as one of the most robust red wines in the Mediterranean and Europe as a whole.
Enjoy with grilled salmon or tuna, salty appetizers, or pizza night.
