Until recently, Timorasso accounted for only a small amount of the acreage in Piedmont. Its popularity is increasingly growing, and we are 100% on board! The grape is native to northern Italy and is mostly grown in the Colli Tortonesi region. It shows aromas of citrus and white flowers, with orchard fruit, slight earthy notes, and fresh minerality carrying through. This wine is truly unique, and reminiscent of some of our favorite chenin blanc. Try with mushroom ravioli or roasted veal.
About The Varietal
Timorasso is an ancient Piedmontese grape variety that faced the threat of extinction in the 1980s. Wines produced from the Timorasso grape tend to be full-bodied with good acidity. This aromatic variety can exhibit tropical fruit notes in some examples and more floral characteristics in others.
Enjoy with curry dishes, roasted white meats or mushrooms!
