Warmer growing regions, fully ripened grapes, extended barrel-aging add to the wine’s body
An incredible partnership between Proprietor Anabelle Sielecki and world-class winemaker Roberto de la Mota, the historical Mendel has become one of the most well-regarded estates in Argentina. Semillon is considered to be one of the oldest varietals in the country. Harvested from the Paraje Altamira vineyard within the Uco Valley, this was aged for 6 months with 10% in oak barrels.
About The Varietal
Sémillon is frequently encountered as a standalone varietal in the Hunter Valley, Australia, and is commonly blended with Sauvignon Blanc to produce Bordeaux white wines. Recognized as one of the world's great white grape varieties, Sémillon contributes to a range of elegant and complex wines.
Enjoy with roasted veggies with a bit of cheese or dairy! Creamed spinach, broccoli cheddar soup, or a loaded baked potato are our favs!
