A century and a decade ago, on June 18th, the Kasato Maru made port in Santos, carrying the first 781 Japanese immigrants to our nation. Our launch serves as a tribute to all these immigrants and their descendants who have embraced and shared a culture that has left an indelible mark on our collective identity. Our beer will take the form of a refreshing, hoppy New England IPA, boasting a 6.5% alcohol content and featuring the addition of Dekopon—a Japanese fruit that, much like those who immigrated, has found its place in our land.
About The Producer
Japas Brewing is the story of three Brazilian-born, Japanese descended women, who met through their passion for beer. They decided to come together with the intention of deep diving into their origins, and eradicating gender and racial barriers in the beer industry. As a result, each of their creations is infused with traditional Japanese and Brazilian flavors, marrying the two cultures in modern ways.
