Uncle Nearest 1884 is the proud legacy of the best whiskey maker the world never knew, Tennessee distilling legend, Nearest Green. Each small batch has its barrels hand-selected by the founders with each blend curated by descendants of Nearest Green. The signature of the descendant who curated each batch is embossed on the back.
The taste profile resides at the center of the palate, reminiscent of a warm afternoon in a rustic barn, featuring notes of grains, corn, rye, wood, as well as hints of caramel, toffee, and tobacco. The finish is extended, with subtle and sweet lingering nuances bidding a gentle farewell.

Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey honors Nathan “Nearest” Green, the first known African-American master distiller, who remains one of history's unsung whiskey-making legends. The Uncle Nearest brand, owned entirely by Uncle Nearest, Inc., a minority-led company led by Fawn Weaver, features a premium-aged whiskey portfolio. This includes a blend of 8- to 14-year-old whiskeys, an 11-year-old single barrel, and a 7-year-old small batch, all mellowed using the Lincoln County Process—a distinctive method of filtering bourbon through sugar maple charcoal. This technique, introduced to Tennessee by enslaved individuals and taught by Nearest Green to a renowned Tennessee whiskey maker, is a key component of the brand's heritage. In Tennessee, Uncle Nearest whiskey is distilled, aged, bottled, and hand-labeled.
